More web-series reviews… Ozark – Came out in 2017 and the 4th and last season came out in Jan 2022.   The Byrdes and their teenage kids Charlotte and Jonah look like, and mostly are, an ordinary family with ordinary lives. Except that husband/father Marty, a Chicago financial advisor, also serves as the top money-launderer for Mexico's second-largest drug cartel. When things go awry, he must uproot his family from the skyscrapers of Chicago and relocate to the lazy lake region of the Missouri Ozarks. One of the reviews from IMDB... These comments are based on watching the first three seasons but don't give major plot details beyond the opening few episodes. Marty Byrde is a successful Chicago financial adviser... whose most important client just happens to be a powerful Mexican drug cartel. When his business partner syphons off some of the money it looks like the end for Marty. His partner is killed but Marty manages

More web-series reviews… Memories of a Murderer – The Nilsen Tapes – In my blog no 197, I had mentioned about DES series.  This is the documentary on the killer and his tapes that he made while in prison. Serial killer Dennis Nilsen narrates his life and horrific crimes via a series of chilling audiotapes recorded from his jail cell. One of the reviews from IMDB... Here is an example of an extremely corrupted mind. A man who was not only a serial murder, but a person who was a psychopathic murdering, necrophilies, who had no empathy for any of his victims. He murdered so many men that his floorboards in his home were filled with mummified bodies. He buried them in the backyard. He dumped them in the sewers and drains. Listening to his tapes, you can hear a lesser, unsophisticated version of Hannibal Lector. He didn't take blame for anything he did, he blamed everyone else. This guy was so sick and so hated by ever

More web-series reviews… Foundation – Foundation is an American science fiction streaming television series created for Apple TV+, loosely based on the Foundation series of stories by Isaac Asimov. Foundation premiered on September 24, 2021. In October 2021, the series was renewed for a second season. One of the reviews from IMDB... Isaac Asimov was not a great stylist, but like a lot of the original pulp-fiction sci-fi writers, he knew how to combine smart futurism with page-turning suspense. A lot of people are mad about switches in race/gender or in the story, but I read the original trilogy 40 years ago and other books in the series almost as long ago so I don't remember the characters. I don't recall Asimov writing especially compelling characters, so I'm surprised people are so attached. Where I feel Foundation fails Asimov is that it's not the TV equivalent of a page turner. It's slow and not es

More web-series reviews… Rebecka Martinsson – Swedish series!! Based on the novels by Åsa Larsson, Rebecka Martinsson is a workaholic lawyer in Stockholm when her past comes back to haunt her in a terrifying way. The death of a childhood friend prompts Rebecka to leaves her fast-track career behind and return to her home town in Kiruna where she is drawn into the hunt for the killer. Despite the life awaiting her in Stockholm, she can't tear herself away from the place she once abandoned, as she is forced to deal with the traumatic past that once caused her to flee. Soon the question is: where does Rebekah really belong? One of the reviews from IMDB... Watched both seasons. Loved them both. Rebecka Martinsson is a fine piece of Nordic Mystery Crime Drama with mild to interesting twists and turns which are complemented with very good acting, patient development of characters and their interactions together on a human scale.
