More web-series reviews… The Inspector Lynely Mysteries – Ran from 2001 to 2007 with a total of 23 episodes.   British crime investigation series based around aristocratic, Oxford-educated Detective Inspector Thomas Lynley and his working-class assistant Sergeant Barbara Havers. Based on the book by the same name by Elizbeth George. One of the reviews from IMDB... I do admit it is not my absolute favourite of all detective shows, Inspector Morse gets that honour, but The Inspector Lynley Mysteries is a very underestimated and compelling one, made possible by the superb performances of Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small, who play two somewhat mismatched detectives Tom Lynley and Barbara Havers. Their chemistry was very believable and grew in the show's run. All the episodes were very well shot, and the locations were beautiful. The story lines were interesting, some are slower moving than others, and there were one or two disappointing final solutions, but other than those two

More web-series reviews…   Inspector George Gently – Ran from 2007 to 2017.  2 seasons with a total of 25 episodes of about one and half hour each.  Based on Alan Hunter's George Gently novels.  The show throws Chief Inspector George Gently into a maelstrom of murders and mayhem, whilst lovingly recreating the Swinging Sixties as it finally hits the North-East in perfect and nostalgic detail. He and his sidekick, ambitious and undisciplined Detective Sergeant John Bacchus make the perfect police partnership, full of warmth and humour. One of the reviews from IMDB... There are two massive reasons to like and admire this series. 1. The characters. The solid, thoughtful Inspector Gently is perfectly matched against his hot-headed subordinate Bacchus. I love both these personalities, and the way their peculiar, very 1960s outlooks interlock. Bacchus in particular is a really great creation, because he's likable in spite

257. Using Credit Cards Beneficially😊

In 2017 I had written 2 blogs on credit cards and what all can be done with them.   For a ready-reckoner, here they are… 9 How to watch movies for free with your Credit Card 16 Using Credit Cards This blog is how to use them beneficially 😊 !!  Every card is marketed with something or the other.  It can be points, it can be free-card for life, it can offer you rewards, either cashback or some other free stuff.  I have tried credit cards from almost all the banks in India and have discontinued most of them!  However, I am still using these cards as they give me benefits that I enjoy 😊 !!  2 of them are free-for-life cards, i.e. I don’t have to pay annual charges for these cards.  For 1, the annual charges are waived if I spend Rs 1.5 lakhs on them in the previous year.  The last card, I have recently got and for which I have paid a joining fee too!  I will explain later as to why I paid it 😊 !!  I am yet to find out if the annual charges would be waived off, in case I cross a ce

More web-series reviews…   The Good Wife – Ran from 2009 to 2016.  A total of 7 seasons of 156 episodes:-) One of the reviews from IMDB... "The Good Wife" is a fantastic show that I haven't been able to stop watching since I started - which was just this year! So yes, I've been binge-watching, and loving every second of it. I started with Netflix, then went to amazon.com, and finally finished season 5 with my own recordings of the last 9 episodes. The story concerns Alicia Florrick (Juliana Margulies), the wife of the former state's attorney (Chris Noth), who went to prison for abusing his office, but not until a scandal about him sleeping with prostitutes emerged. It's up to Alicia now to provide for her two children, Zach and Grace. After 13 years, she goes back to work as an attorney at a firm, Lockhart & Gardner. Gardner is her ex-boyfriend (Josh Charles), who still carries a torch. His par

More web-series reviews… Conversation with a Killer – The Jefferey Dahmer Tapes – Came out in 2022. Serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer confesses to his gruesome crimes in unguarded interviews, offering an unsettling view into a disturbed mind. One of the reviews from IMDB... Joe Berlinger resumes the "Conversations" series with one of the most horrible human beings to have ever walked the face of the earth - Jeffrey Dahmer. Hot on the heels of a dramatized series starring Evan Peters, this version (like its predecessors) adopts a non-linear approach to Dahmer's ghastly deeds, with some insight into his upbringing. The interviews involve reporters, investigators, friends of victims, and acquaintances of Dahmer's. The tapes themselves aren't what you call spine-chilling because by then, he's already in a confessional mode and acting saner than he ever was. That being said, the gruesome details, when narrated b
