More web-series reviews…   The Capture – 1st season came out in 2019 (I had reviewed it here http://seshadrimusings.blogspot.com/2022/06/232-web-series-reviews-78.html ) and the second came out in 2022. One of the reviews from IMDB... This show is a fine example of how a story need not be convoluted or break the bank with fancy special effects in order to weave a rich, suspenseful plot. The growing ethical dilemma of security vs. Loss of privacy in a surveillance state is taken to the next logical quandary that we face today, when public and private CCTV, aka closed circuit TV recordings and surveillance, is no longer a "closed circuit" in a digitally interconnected world, and analog gives way to digital, where integrity and non-repudiation can no longer be assured. What we might have thought it would be a Black Mirror episode is much closer to reality. The acting is sharp, and the script and direction are solid.

248. Humorous Observations in Life

There are so many humorous happenings that happen around us in our daily life.   I normally jot them down to include them in my blogs.   But sometimes, I forget and the happening is also forgotten 😊 !   Somehow, I had noted down these incidents and am now able to describe them down here.   I am sure that you too would like them as it is/was humorous and made my day 😊 !! The other day, me and my wife were travelling in a train from Secunderabad to Chennai.  We were in 2 nd class AC.  Due to late booking of tickets, we had different berths, even though in the same compartment.   Since bedtime was still some hours away, we were sitting together.  The ticket checker came and wanted to see the tickets.  He looked to be in his late-50’s.   Instead of seeing the tickers, he just wanted to know which seats are for which passengers.  I told him that we have a seat here and another seat in the other part of the coach and me and my wife are the 2 passengers.  Then he saw me and wife and then

When I visited the site, I found that I had seen 16 of them 😊 .  And the balance 4, I had them with me for the past 1-2 years 😊 .  So, I prioritized seeing these 4 and closing out the top 20 detective series of all times! One more bucket list item ticked off 😊 !!  I am still about 10 short of the top 50 😊 !  Will update once I complete them too!   This is a Tamil book that was published in 1955, comprising 5 volumes and stretching to about 2210 pages in all.   Prior to this, from 29 th October 1950 to 16 th May 1954, the story was serialized in the weekly edition of the Kalki magazine, a staggering 5-year period 😊 !!   The author being the editor of the magazine, Kalki Krishnamurthy.   It seems that there used to be a mad rush at all the magazine stores in Tamil Nadu to get the weekly copy and read the next chapter of the story!   The book tells the story of early days of Arulmozhivarman, who later became the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I (947 CE – 1014 CE). Kalki visited Sri Lanka three times to gather information for it. Ponniyin Selvan is widely considered by many to be the greatest novel ever written in Tamil literature.   The craze for the series which was published weekly was such that it elevated the magazine circulation to reach a staggering figure of 71,366 copies – no mean achievement in a newly independe
