More web-series reviews… The Burning Girls – Came out in 2023.A reverend and her daughter start a new life in a village that soon reveals its community's dark history and where ancient superstitions and mistrust of outsiders are quite common. A review from IMDB... Samantha Morton and Ruby Stokes play their roles perfectly in this twisting suspenseful thriller. We binged the whole series as it was like reading a good book. One simply cannot stop watching it! My wife called this series "Midsomer Murders," on drugs. It does have the feel of a village in Midsomer county, but there is no humor. "The Burning Girls," is a much darker series, more along the lines of "Hinterland," but darker still. I am going to avoid giving away any spoilers and simply say that this series had so many interesting twists, and turns, that we were kept guessing right up to the very end. More web-series reviews… The Enfield Poltergeist – Came out in 2023. Experience the chilling true story of the world's most famous poltergeist case through original audio recordings made inside the house as the events unfolded. A review from IMDB... Well made documentary by apple tv. I've seen other docs and shows about the Enfield haunting but this one is excellent and you get interviews from people who were there. The series uses Grosse's original audio tapes, and actors recreate scenes that were documented over a two-year period. Plus, there are dozens of agend

A couple of weeks before, I came across an article mentioning that if you are doing puzzles on a daily basis, you can delay the onset of Alzheimer.  I then thought I will write a blog on this with the puzzles that I do every day 😊 .  I googled and got this info from Forbes… Puzzles, card games, chess and adult education classes can reduce the risk of developing dementia over the age of 70 by as much as 11%, a new study found, but participating in group activities and maintaining active social circles have little impact on late-in-life memory loss. Adult literacy activities, learning new skills, taking classes and, to a lesser extent, crafting or artistry all contributed to a lower dementia risk in people over 70, a study published Friday by the American Medical Association journal JAMA Network Open found. Active mental activities—crosswords, puzzles, games, cards or chess—and adult literacy, defined in the study as attending a class, writing or using a computer, provided the g

More web-series reviews… Redemption – Came out in 2022.  DI Colette Cunningham's no nonsense approach to policing has earned her the respect of her Merseyside Police colleagues. She seems unflappable, until she gets a call from the Garda in Dublin after the body of a young woman is discovered. A review from IMDB... Redemption traces the experiences of Detective Inspector Collette Cunningham (Paula Malcolmson), a successful Liverpool Serious Crime Squad senior detective called back to her native Dublin by the Irish Garda (Police) due to the untimely death of her daughter Stacey (Rachel O'Byrne) from whom she'd been estranged for over 35 years. Collette is named as guardian of two unknown grandchildren, 16 year old Cara (Abby Fitz) and 14 year old Liam (Evan O'Connor), who have an absent father Eoin (Moe Dunford). To care for her grandkids and to more fully investigate the suspicious circumstances of her daughter&
