More web-series reviews… Lockerbie: A Search for Truth – Came in 2025.  Pan Am Flight 103 explodes over Lockerbie 38 minutes after takeoff on Dec. 21, 1988, killing 259 on board and 11 on ground. Dr. Jim Swire loses daughter Flora and seeks justice with wife Jane. A review from IMDB... My first review for 2025 is here and it is a tv show that focuses on the real life events of the Lockerbie plane disaster, so it is a pretty serious watch. I have watched all of the 5 episodes and here is my review for the show. The premise of the show focuses on a doctor who is trying to get justice for his daughter and all the lives that were affected by the Lockerbie Plane Disaster that took place in 1988. Main Character Colin Firth plays Dr Jim Swire and you won't see too many better performances then this all year, he is truly fantastic. You see the real emotion and harm that comes to him during the entire show and the longer the case takes the more it takes out of him and his family. F...

More web-series reviews… Vera – Ran from 2011 to 2025 with the last season dropping in Jan 2025. 14 seasons in all! With her caustic wit and singular charm, DCI Vera Stanhope leads her team as they face a series of captivating murder mysteries set against the breathtaking Northumberland landscape. Trivia This show is based on the works of crime author Ann Cleeves. Her stories are set in Northumberland and North Tyneside, where the author has lived for more than two decades. According to Cleeves, the variety of the area and landscape gives the stories texture. A review from IMDB... Unlike the 156 reviewers before me, I am writing this after watching all 56 episodes of the show. It's been quite a journey over the past 14 years but the standard has consistently stayed high with great writing and mainly unknown actors which allows the viewers to concentrate on the storyline and not spend 90+ minutes wondering what else you have seen them in. Obviously, Vera is the star b...

More web-series reviews… Temple – Ran from 2019 to 2021 with 2 seasons. UK version of the Norwegian show about a surgeon who is determined to save his dying wife to the point of agreeing to treat criminals and others for cash in his highly illegal secret underground clinic. A review from IMDB... This weird contrivance pulls together a web of unlikely and diverse characters who are drawn ever closer to the dark goings-on in the underbelly of Temple tube station. In the centre of this web is a brilliant heart surgeon who is grimly determined to cheat death. The magnetic screen presence of Mark Strong playing the brooding Doctor Daniel Milton (Paradise Lost reference there?) contrasts wonderfully with the desperation and idealism of his 'partner in crime' Lee Simmons (Daniel Mays). The doctor is suave, focused and emotionally closed - while the avid 'Prepper' Simmons is expressively neurotic; it's great chemistry. The surgery scenes are laughably brutal and realis...

More web-series reviews… The Midwich Cuckoos – Came in 2022.  Midwich, a small English commuter town, is liberal and aspirational, populated by families and affluent streets. A place where nothing much happens - that is until the twilight hours of a summer's day when a sleepy corner of Midwich is plunged into panic. People pass out on their feet without warning, without reason. Anyone who tries to enter meets the same fate. And nobody can understand why. When the mysterious blackout is lifted, life for those affected returns to apparent normality - except every woman of child-bearing age inside the zone has suddenly and inexplicably fallen pregnant. As news spreads and tensions simmer, it is up to gifted psychotherapist Dr Susannah Zellaby (Keeley Hawes) to help support those affected. Susannah's own daughter, Cassie (Synnøve Karlsen), has fallen pregnant and Susannah harbours deep concerns about who, or what, is behind this phenomenon. Local officer DCI Paul Haynes (Max Bee...

More web-series reviews… Midsomer Murders – Running from 1997 till now 😊 !  The British detective drama revolves around Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby's efforts to solve numerous murders that take place in the fictional English county of Midsomer. The current lead character is Detective Chief Inspector John Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon), who is the younger cousin of former lead character Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby (John Nettles). The Barnabys have worked with several different Sergeants throughout the run of the show, including Sergeant Gavin Troy (Daniel Casey), Sergeant Dan Scott (John Hopkins), Detective Sergeant Ben Jones (Jason Hughes), Detective Sergeant Charlie Nelson (Gwilym Lee), and Sergeant Jamie Winter (Nick Hendrix). A review from IMDB... I've been binge-watching (unintentionally--I accidentally got hooked) on N*tfl*x and am now on season 12. My appreciation for this show has only grown; which lea...
