More web-series reviews… The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan – Came in 2025. Tracing the cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan, this documentary series explores their intricate past and uncertain present on the pitch. A review from IMDB... Right from its announcement, it has created a sense of excitement, as an India vs Pakistan match is not just a cricketing war-it is, in turn, a battle of pent-up emotions. Another Netflix documentary is here, focusing largely on India's tour of Pakistan in 2004 and bit of Pakistan's tour of India in 1999. It explores the atmosphere of those times-the political scenario, the Cold War-like tensions, and behind-the-scenes moments from the cricketing world, where arch-enemies on the field turn out to be friends off it. It is surely a nostalgic trip for 90s kids, making you feel like you are reliving those moments all over again. Featuring interviews with Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Shoaib Akhtar, and Inzamam-ul-Haq in ...

More web-series reviews… Black Warrant – Came in 2025. Based on a book. A newly appointed jailer at Tihar Prison confronts widespread corruption and injustice within its walls, forcing him to choose between maintaining the status quo or fighting for reform. Starring Shashi Kapoor's grandson. A review from IMDB... Black Warrant kicks off 2025 with a firework of tremendous performances, brilliantly directed by a visionary showrunner on the solid base of some terrific writing. This is a show which excels in every aspect as it transports its viewers back to the 80s and right into the middle of Delhi's infamous Tihar Jail. The series follows the transformation of a young and naive Jailer as his principles and identity are challenged by the diverse grey characters and situations that encircle him. The story feels very realistic and is further grounded in reality by the splattering of real life criminals and incidents through the season. The authors of the original novel have...

More web-series reviews… The Hour – Came in 2011. A behind-the-scenes drama and espionage thriller in Cold War-era England that centers on a journalist, a producer, and an anchorman for an investigative news programme. A review from IMDB... Quality TV drama Review of Series One: This decent BBC drama miniseries depicts the lives and loves of three journalists working for the corporation during the 1950s. The series gets off to a dodgy start with the first couple of episodes, mainly because the main characters are all so damn cold. It then gets a lot better as we get to know those involved, and by the end it's become a real blast. Romola Garai's Bel is really the centrepiece of the whole production, the producer who attempts to hold it all together while making some huge mistakes along the way. Ben Whishaw's Freddie is a bit of an oddball at first, but his deepening involvement with the series' conspiracy undertones makes him a character to watch and, come t...

More web-series reviews… Treason – Came in 2022.  Adam Lawrence was trained and groomed by MI6; his career seems set. When the past catches up with him in the form of Kara, a Russian spy with whom he shares a complicated past, he is forced to question everything and everyone in his life. A review from IMDB... 'Treason' tries to be everything. A John LeCarre spy and counterspy story, an action flick, a family-in-peril thriller, a love story, a 'Who Done It and What Did He/She Do?'. In the end it's simply a lot of running around here and there with peoples' motives cloudy and no one knowing whom to trust. The torrid pace of this series can be summed up in this. A family member of the hero is kidnapped, held, and returned unharmed before the second of five episodes is concluded. There are 'maguffins' in the story, secrets / incidents that trigger everything else. And they're relatively lame, having to do with (1) the private use of a governme...
