More web-series reviews…

Quicksand – A Swedish series that came in Netflix in 2019. Based on the Swedish novel "Störst av allt" by Malin Persson Giolito. After a school shooting in Stockholm's wealthiest suburb, Danderyd, the seemingly normal 18 year-old girl Maja is accused of murder. But during the trial, details of her relationship with five other students, parents and a teacher are revealed. Is she really the murderer or just another victim?

Quicksand, a thrilling mystery drama, an unpretentious show that hooks you from the first episode, while slowly and interestingly developing. It's not a masterpiece and never sees itself as one, but it's a very engaging series, showing among others that sad and naive mistakes, driven by stupidity, negligence and love may have dear consequences.

(+) Great acting by the main and supportive cast alike. Now, I know Hanna Ardéhn. We need more of her in series. Sometimes dull, but with a magnetic beauty.

(+) Thrilling story with nice slow-burner development, flashbacks and a deep look at the human nature.

(+) Right amount of episodes. Could have been condensed into five.

(+-) The ending not so much to my taste. Expected something dreadful and complex. By the way, are they so calm and polite there in courts?!

Thank you Netflix for bringing us this enjoyable original series. Scandinavian shows have truly an acid yet lovely taste.

P.S. Reviewers complaining of stupid decisions, better make the right ones themselves.

My Take – A pretty engaging series. Worth a watch!

The Unlikely Murderer – Another Swedish series that released in 2021. A fictional interpretation of how Stig Engström, the graphic designer who was named as the probable murderer of Sweden's prime minister Olof Palme, managed to elude justice right up to his death through a combination of audacity, luck and a perplexed police force. What do we know about Stig Engström? How could the police let him get away, despite being on his track? The murder was not planned well, Engström did everything wrong from the beginning and almost no one believed his lies about what he actually did during that fateful night 1986 in Stockholm, Sweden.

If this shows us one thing, that it is impossible to trust eye witnesses. At least you should question most of them - so best way to know for sure is surveilance? Do we really want every inch of this planet to be filmed at all times? It would solve certain questions and problems ... on the other hand, forget about privace, not to mention that even that wouldn't be something that you could trust entirely (with hackers and software that can alter video footage and so forth).

All that aside (conspiracies be damned), the show goes on to bring us close to a murder mystery that some still may feel is not entirely solved. The main thing missing is the why - although if you google the case, you may be able to find an answer to that. But also just if you believe what this show is based on. It may be the most likely case (no pun intended) of what occured back then ... but who really knows? Still this is quite the intriguing if very slow burning retelling of what happened ... something that will excite certain people and not be enough for others.

The actors are great in this - and the subtle treatment works most of the time. You may feel like certain things are pointless, but such is life ... (un)like it or not.

My Take – Worth a watch!

Lula Rich – Documentary series. LuLaRich chronicles the rise and fall of the LuLaRoe leggings multi-level marketing company. Through exclusive interviews with retailers, employees, the company founders, and more, this four-part documentary series unveils how things went wrong in a spectacularly weird fashion, and what that story of LuLaRoe says about The United States at large.

This was actually Very Interesting, but, I can't help but wonder why people STILL don't immediately associate MLM with Pyramid Schemes??? They are usually the same thing, and unless you are one of the 1st in, your Gonna Lose!

It's too bad that what started off as a good idea, comfortable clothes in trippy patterns, and expanded to clothes for kids and men and was initially doing a good thing and helping women make money from home, turned into This HOT EVIL GREEDY MESS!

I've Never heard of these products till a few years ago when I saw Sam B. And John Oliver talking about this company being in Hot Water! And as I watched each episode, I couldn't believe how dark and weird and creepy Mark & Deanne became and intrusive on every level of their sales reps lives and these people just drank the Kool-Aid, put their Brains on Pause and joined the cult.

Sorry, but maybe if they weren't throwing 30 Million dollar parties for their top sales people and paying Katy Perry 5 million for a private concert, maybe all these women would have been able to make a decent living. GREED, GREED, GREEDY!!!

And as long as the laws for these types of business models don't have a Full Over Haul, this will just keep happening. People, please... AVOID MLM unless your a GREEDY and SOULless person who doesn't care about anyone but YOURSELF!!! Or you just want to Lose money you just don't have and can't afford to lose in the 1st place.

You should watch this and see how Good Intentions Pave the way to Hell! 😉

My Take – Worth a watch!

Tiger King 2 – You can safely ignore as it does not have anything to add to the earlier series😉

Cheers till next time😊!

Daffy Definition

Careful Driver – One who looks in both directions when jumps a red light😊!
