167. Ramanarayanam Temple, Vizianagaram

This temple should be on your must-watch bucket list!  It was inaugurated in March 2014.  Not many people are aware of this temple.  I spoke to an official there as to why they are not promoting this in a big way.  He said they have a website and all the details are published there.  I believe, since most of the stuff is mentioned in Telugu language, they are not able to attract many visitors.  Although for the Hanuman 3-d laser projection show, held thrice in the evening, there is a crowd.

The temple is located on the outskirts of the Vizianagaram town. The temple is in the shape of a bow.  At the two ends of each bow, there are 2 temples, one for Ram-Lakshman-Sita and one for Vishnu.  Between the temples, shaped in the two bows, there are two galleries depicting Ramayana.  A total of 72 laminated moldings depict the entire Ramayana. At the mid-way of the two galleries, is a tall Hanuman statue, on which the 3-d laser show is depicted every evening.  From near the gate, 2 two pathways go the temple.  And from the gate to the Hanuman statue, another pathway filled with garden is there.  Have a look at the picture below.  Between the two pathways are big statues of Lakshmi and Saraswati.  There is also a status of Vishnu lying on Adisesha in the temple.

Night time is the best time to visit as the temple shines when it is illuminated.  In the morning hours, you may not get to enjoy the beauty of the place.

Find below a pictorial view of the temple….

You can visit www.ramanarayanam.org for more details on the temple.  On the main page itself they have uploaded the 3-d laser projection of Hanuman Chaalisa on the Hanuman statue.  I am not uploading it here as their picturization is much better than mine😊!!  I was not going to record it as there are lots of instruction boards there that says not to record.  But, when I saw everyone recording it, I too joined the chorus!!

There is also a maha aarati done that I have uploaded here https://youtu.be/XSbv9t7_loY that you can enjoy.  The song is sung by the legendary Mr S P Balasubramanian.

Overall an exciting place to visit.  Since there is not much visibility on the temple details in social media, the place is not crowded.  You can leisurely read the Ramayana story mentioned in the 72 laminated moldings.  There is a small entry fee of Rs 20 for adults.

Make sure you visit there and see the temple in all its glory, in real😊 and not on photos😊!!

Cheers till next time!!
