169. Kumili Temple
Kumili is a
small place which contains the temples of the following Gods/Goddesses, in a
single location. A cluster of temples in
a single complex. About 20kms from
Vizianagaram.
Soorya, Satyanarayana, Dattatreya, Venkateswara, Aanjaneya, Ganapathi, Sitarama, Radha Krishna Rukmini, Aandal (godha devi), Lakshmi Narasimhan, Kaalika devi aalayam and Navagraha aalayam. Most portions of the temple are in a dilapidated condition. There is only 1 priest for the temple and he is available only in the Kaalika Devi temple. There are also 2 cows in the temple who have tags in their ears with a serial number for tracking by the Government!
Find below the temple through the photos….
However, there is one disturbing thing in the temple. There is also a status of Jesus dragging a cross. It seems this statue has been erected in an empty place inside one temple. No idea as to who gave permission for this or why the locals did not object to this. Since there are not many visitors to this temple, maybe this has not been made known outside. This temple is in Andhra Pradesh. Near to this temple is another temple, shown below, where recently the idol of Sri Ram was beheaded and it turned into a political controversy. Since there is no other way than to climb a huge number of steps to reach the temple, we did not go to this temple.
Cheers till next time!
Today’s Observation
The other line moves faster. This applies to all lines – bank, market, customs. If you change lines, then the other line – the one you were in originally – will move faster😊
Thanks for updating us with information about temples which we have not heard off
