Fubar – Came in 2023. A father and daughter have both been working as CIA Operatives for years, but each kept their involvement in the CIA hidden from the other, resulting in their entire relationship being a gigantic lie. Upon learning of each other's involvement in the CIA, the pair are forced to work together as partners, and against the backdrop of explosive action, and espionage, learn who each other really are.

Schwarzenegger's first leading role in a TV series is an absolute success, modernising the blend of action and comedy that became synonymous with the Austrian Oak in the 80s.
A plot not unlike True Lies, Luke Bruner, a retiring CIA spy, discovers that his daughter has followed in his footsteps into the CIA, unbeknownst to either of them. Now having the team up, family drama couples up with global threat.
Well choreographed and allowing Schwarzenegger to take the spotlight in scenes without too much athleticism, he is well supported by the rest of the cast. They, too, have great chemistry as the natural banter bounces within the team of agents each with a distinguished personality.
A solid plot, well linked between episodes whilst each has an individual mission, the series is split perfectly well, often utilising cliffhangers; no doubt short-lived for those binge-watching the series. There are definite actions that take place to support the prolonging of a story, chipping away at the realism of a series that is already firmly in fantasy, but this doesn't lessen the enjoyment factor.
A great mix of action, comedy and drama across the settings of global terrorism, a tight agency and the family home, Schwarzenegger's first TV series is totally FUBAR.
My Take – A worthwhile watch!
School of Lies – Came out in 2023. A young 12-year-old boy, who goes missing from a private boarding school, RISE, and how the subsequent domino effect it causes as the truth is only as complex as simple.

Web series review: School of Lies streaming on Disney+ Hotstar
Set in the fictional Dalton Town nestled in the hills, the disappearance of a 12 year old boy Shakti from the prestigious RISE boarding school rocks the entire town with the police twiddling their thumbs, clueless about the whereabouts of the boy. Will they succeed in finding Shakti especially when there are so many myths and stories concocted about his behaviour and character by his friends and seniors. There is also a parallel plot of some wrong doings ( won't reveal much !!) going on in the school (drugs, illicit sex etc).
The cast is the strong point of this series with Nimrat Kaur ( as the student counselor) , Amir Bashir( a housemaster at RISE) , Vir Pachasia ( the kid who has played Shakti) & the 2 seniors TK & Vikram have really done full justice to their roles.
The damp, gloomy, foggy ambience in the hills goes a long way in creating a spooky vibe that is essential for the for plot.
The story however moves at a snails pace and gets very tedious to watch at times. Yawn alert!! Could have been a bit fast paced. People who like "slowburn's" will enjoy it though.
8 episodes are a bit too many for this series which should've ended in perhaps 6.
Worth a dekho !! Not the greatest, but not bad either!!
Going with 3/5 for this one .. adios 🙂
My Take – Worth a watch!
Scoop – Came out in 2023. A journalist's life takes a 360 because of the very system that made her who she is. Will she fight or will she concede?

Scoop Streaming on Netflix released on 02nd June 2023 Storyline is based on Jigna Vora's book Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison. In June 2011, crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey was murdered. Jigna Vora was sent to jail in this case. Jigna was then the deputy bureau chief of the newspaper named Asian Age. Jigna was accused of having a personal enmity with Jyotirmoy Dey. Because of this, she provided some information to the Chhota Rajan gang. On the basis of that Jyotirmoy was identified and killed. Obviously the names of the characters and newspapers have been changed in this series.
Series shows how there is a difference between that real incident and the story that reaches the general public.
Scoop talks about the deep trench between honesty and newspaper-selling journalism. Business interference in media work. In a male-dominated society, a woman's success is linked to her body instead of her mind. The battle between honesty and reward. Draconian use of MOCOCA & TADA. Nexus between Underworld, Media and Police. This series talks on all these above issues comfortably. Series presents you facts, not results.
The quote of Jonathan Freasure has been quoted by a character Imran Chief Editor of a Newspaper in a scene If one person says that it is raining outside and the other says that it is sunny outside. In such a situation, the job of the media is not to tell the side of both, but to tell the truth by looking outside the window itself.
Hansal Mehta Director of Scam 1992, Faraz directed Scoop with full research. His narratives are very clear. Every department of Series is par excellence.
Our own Bumba da Prosenjit again impressive after Jubilee.
Stellar performance by Zeeshan Ayub, Tanmay Dhanania and all other artist.
Brilliant performance by Karisma Tanna in lead role. She is the Hero of the series.
A must watch Series.
My rating is 5 out of 5.
My Take – A definitive watch!
