Asur 2 – Came out in 2023. A psychopath killer with a twisted philosophy deep-seated in Indian mythology is on the loose. Two forensic officers from the CBI are close on heals to catch the serial killer but with a twist of fate, they get caught in a dreadful situation. How will this end? Will the real face of this ASUR be revealed?

One of the reviews from IMDB...

Asur Season 2 is a crime thriller web series that follows the CBI's investigation into a series of murders that are linked to the ancient Hindu mythology of Kali and Kalki. The series stars Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Abhishek Chauhan, and Amey Wagh.

Asur Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off, with the CBI still reeling from the revelation that the serial killer they were hunting was actually a brilliant forensic scientist named Shub Joshi (Arshad Warsi). Shub has escaped from custody and is now on the loose, and he's determined to continue his killing spree in order to prove his twisted theory that Kali will eventually destroy humanity.

The CBI team, led by Dhananjay Rajpoot (Barun Sobti), is determined to stop Shub before he can kill again. But Shub is a formidable opponent, and he's using his knowledge of science and technology to stay one step ahead of the CBI. He's also using the ancient myth of Kali to manipulate his victims and the public.

Asur Season 2 is a well-made and suspenseful thriller that offers a unique blend of mythology and technology. The performances are all excellent, with Warsi and Sobti giving particularly memorable turns. The series is also visually stunning, with some impressive special effects.

However, Asur Season 2 does have a few flaws. The plot can be a bit convoluted at times, and the pacing can be a bit slow in some episodes. The series also relies a bit too heavily on twists and turns, which can make it feel a bit predictable at times.

Overall, Asur Season 2 is a solid crime thriller that offers a unique and entertaining take on the genre. Fans of the first season will definitely want to check it out, and new viewers who are looking for a suspenseful and well-made thriller should also give it a try.

Here are some of the things that I liked about Asur Season 2:

The performances: Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti are both excellent in their roles, and they bring a lot of depth and complexity to their characters. Abhishek Chauhan and Amey Wagh are also great in supporting roles.

The story: The story is well-paced and suspenseful, and it offers a unique blend of mythology and technology. There are some great twists and turns along the way, and the ending is satisfying.

The visuals: The series is visually stunning, with some impressive special effects. The cinematography is also excellent, and it helps to create a dark and atmospheric tone.

Here are some of the things that I didn't like about Asur Season 2:

The plot can be a bit convoluted at times. There are a lot of moving parts, and it can be hard to keep track of everything that's going on.

The pacing can be a bit slow in some episodes. The series is 9 episodes long, and it could have been trimmed down a bit.

The series relies a bit too heavily on twists and turns. There are so many twists and turns that it can be hard to keep track of them all, and they start to feel a bit predictable after a while.

The first season was top notch and after it ended I had withdrawal symptoms like something is missing from my life. The adult version of Shubh was a disappointment to be honest. The young one was menacing, calculative and intelligent. The adult version is impulsive and reckless. The use of hacking and social media is overused and oversimplified. Its not that easy to hack and this is coming from someone who is in cyber security field. This is has some resemblance with Dan Brown style story telling.

My take – A definitive watch!
