3 Body Problem – Came in 2024.  During the Chinese Cultural Revolution, a young astrophysicist considered a political dissident is employed at a secret military radio station. Forty years later, a number of scientists all over the world start taking their own life. A nanotechnology expert starts having visions of an ominous countdown. The key to the mystery might lie in a strange VR game that uses advanced technology.

A review from IMDB...

A group of scientists discover a phenomena that threatens humanity itself, a sequence of events that were put into action some forty years ago in China.

There's so much hype surrounding this series right now, it's one of those shows everyone is talking about, but I've been here before, this unlike many however is worthy of the hype.

I have read the book (albeit some years back,) and was worried how on Earth they'd adapt it, such a complex story, but the truth is, they've done a fine job, it's definitely heavily edited, something that gives this show pace.

I enjoyed episodes one and two, although I fully got into it during the third, the highlight for me was episode five, Judgment Day, it's incredible.

I have a feeling this show will soldier on a little longer, I only hope they don't dilute it down too much.

There are some incredible special effects throughout, in particular, there's that sequence on the boat in episode 5 that is incredible, perhaps the highlight of the series.

Very well acted throughout, I personally really enjoyed the performances of Liam Cunningham, Jess Hong and Benedict Wong, there are so many, as well as some unexpected guest appearances.

A very fine adaptation of what is a wonderfully complex and imaginative story.

My Take – Worth a watch!

They will quickly understand that their involvement in this affair owes nothing to chance, and that the answers they seek are rooted in the secrets of their own past.

A review from IMDB...

Most people that get annoyed by Ida didn't even watch further then the first 2 episodes. Don't get mislead by all those bad reviews, if u are looking for a new serie to watch try this one.

I myself didn't get annoyed by Ida, I don't know why so much other people do. It was clear for me from the first few episodes that see had a fatal sickness, they also explained why her personality was that way mostly because her bad social skills because she hadn't a lot of real life contact with people only over the internet.

I give the serie 7 stars. I like the characters and in 6 episodes u are able to learn about them. There are some random things that were unnecessary, from the top of my head one where Ida gets visual emoijs out of nowhere that don't really add something and they didn't do it often enough to let the viewer really get it.

The serie is about a cult and it has a few deeper meanings that are really fun to get when u get further into the series, really fun plottwists. I did get the feeling that the last few episodes had a big increase in pace, it didn't feel rushed so it isn't a bad thing but u could not really lose your attention otherwise u could miss something important in the story.

It's of course ur own choice if u want to watch this serie, but please don't get influenced by the bad reviews. It isn't that bad as they say. Serie is a good choice when looking for something to watch, only 6 episodes, try to get to 4 if u don't like it by then I don't know what went wrong.

My Take – Worth a watch!

Manhunt – Came out in 2024.  The aftermath of the first American presidential assassination and the fight to preserve and protect the ideals that were the foundation of Lincoln's Reconstruction plans.

A review from IMDB...

If you enjoy period pieces and/or procedural dramas and you don't mind a bit of a slow burn, you'll probably enjoy this series. Tobias Menzies is excellent (and does a really good American accent), even if he doesn't have the truly glorious beard the real Edwin Stanton had. Anthony Boyle is absolutely despicable as Booth, as he should be. Every scene with Lovie Simone is so tense and beautifully acted that I can't really take my eyes off the screen when she's on it.

As other reviewers have mentioned, there are of course historical inaccuracies. Duh. Every movie or series based on historical events has inaccuracies. If that bothers you to the point of distraction, then perhaps you should stick to documentaries. As for Lincoln's voice, which a lot of reviewers seem to find downright offensive, historian and Lincoln-enthusiast Harold Holzer has said that Lincoln was almost certainly a tenor based on contemporary accounts. Some who heard Abe speak even described his voice as high and shrill. It may be a bit jarring the first time you hear it, but Linklater's voice at least is consistent with contemporary descriptions of Lincoln's.

I also just genuinely don't know what the complaint about casting is. So what if some of these actors are better known for comic roles? They're definitely not playing their roles comically here. I don't find anyone particularly miscast.

This show is fine. It's not going to go down in the books as the greatest series ever, or even one of my favorites. But holy canoli, it's so much better than the majority of reviews are giving it credit for.

My Take – Worth a watch!

Cheers till next time😊!
