26 Preparing A Kid's Birthday Party At Home
Nowadays people are getting very
busy with their lives with the social interaction, in person, reducing to a
bare minimum or nil. The only way such
interaction is possible is the arrival of someone’s birthday or an anniversary,
which facilitates the setting up of a party to meet and spend some quality time
face-to-face. Most of the times it is
due to their kid’s birthday that they are able to meet people at all without
talking about work😊
The planning is usually done on
the weekend before the birthday where you decide who all to invite. Your friends, with or without kids, or only
their kids, your kid’s current/past friends, his/her colony friends and school
friends. Once you arrive at a total,
then you have to decide on the food.
Whether to prepare in-house or order from outside. If the total number of eaters is going to be
more than 10, it is better to order from outside. You can either visit the restaurant and pick
up the order or have them deliver it at your home at the appointed time. If you are getting the food delivered at
home, it is better to have it early, otherwise the traffic might keep your
guests hungry!!
A couple of days before the
event, go to a cake shop and order a nice cake.
If it is a photo cake, it will be very nice. Take your kid with you and let him choose the
photo that he wants to have on the cake.
Some shops also offer to take your old photos and have it imprinted on
the cake. It depends on your nature
whether you want your kid to cut a cake that has his/her own snap!! Let your kid decide and go with the flow!!
To make the event enjoyable, buy
some triangular caps and have each of the guest wear it. Many of the adults will object at first, till
the kid in them rises above their embarrassment and agree to wear it!! Also have a lot of big balloons. Believe me, many kids will ask if they can
take the balloon home with them, after the party. Also have a couple of balloons filled with
toffees which can be burst by a pin, once the cake cutting is over. More such balloons, more the merry!! Never use the foam-thrower as there is a high
risk of it causing harm as it inflates the flames of the candles of the cake
and attracts whoever has foam on his body!!
With the cake, distribute some
snacks like vegetable patties, some chips and a fruit juice. Avoid cold drinks at any cost. (As an aside, after seeing some WhatsApp
messages, my mother used Coke once to clean our toilet commode. Now she is insisting to use that only for
cleaning😊,
instead of an acid!!) Giving some snacks
with the cake, also keeps your tension down, in case the food is delayed!! With some snacks inside their tummy, the kids
will not be restless!!
Have some games organized to keep
the kids entertained. You want them to
remember this birthday for some time, right!!
Have everyone participate so that they don’t get bored. Some interesting games are described in the
following sites: -
Don’t forget to give them return
gifts once the party is over and they are ready to leave. Make sure the return
gifts are something that they will use. Don’t give it just for the sake of
giving. Have 2-3 different varieties of
the gift and let them choose one to their liking. The kid is always happy when he gets to
choose something for himself/herself.
Have some extra so that in case a kid decides to change, you don’t have
to say no!!
Happy kid-party!! Cheers!!
