88 - The Dukku ChroniclesπŸ˜€ - 1

Image
As indicated earlier, the next couple of blogs are dedicated to my dear friend, Dukku.      There are tons of stuff to write about him that it will definitely take more that 1-2 blogs to write about him 😊!! I don’t know how the name Dukku came up!   If I remember correctly one of our friends from the General class had started calling him like that and it stuck.   Dukku had Physics as one of the subjects in the B.Sc Computer Science course and I had Chemistry instead of Physics in my course.   So, for all other subjects we were attending classes together and were also sitting together.   By the way, there were 3 girls in our Computer Science class who were admired in the entire college!!   Fortunately, all these girls opted for Chemistry as their subject instead of Physics 😊. Dukku always used to feel sad about this 😊😊!! Recreating the olden days 😊😊 – 31 years gap!! Dukku and I were going out with 2 of these girls for movies and lunches outside the college on a reg

87 - College reminiscences – 2

There were several instances that happened during my college life that it was getting tedious to list them out and then write on it 😊 .   However, I thought let me take one instance at a time and then write about it rather than wait for all the instances to hit my brain!! I remember this incident vividly.   We had gone to a reputed engineering college in North India for their college festival.   There were 8-10 people going from our college and out of that 3 were from my class.   I think this was when I was in the 2nd year of college.   I and my Computer Science Colleague (let’s call him Dukku rather than keep referring to him as the computer science colleague 😊 ) and one more from the General course were travelling.   Dukku and me were participating in the Quiz and my other friend was participating in some other event. On the first night of our visit to the college, all of us went around roaming around the campus.   Since it was full of greenery, it was very lovely.

86 - College reminiscences - 1

After a grand reunion with my college-mates during the early part of this month, I was trying to remember various incidents that happened during my college times.   Some of them, I had shared with my friends during the reunion.   Others came to me in bits and pieces and other friends also helped me out in remembering the incidents.   So, the first thing I made is the list of incidents so that I don’t forget it when I sit down to write the blogs 😊 !!   In the next few blogs, I will describe the incidents that happened.   As usual, there will be some masala thrown in to make the incident seem witty, although it might not have been witty at that particular point of time 😊!! I studied at the Motilal Nehru College in South Campus in Delhi.   After joining the college only, it was dawned that the college was filled with undesirable elements whose only aim in life to make the situation miserable for others!!   But as long as you kept to yourself and are with your friends, nothing wil

85 - College Reunion after 29 Years!!

It all started with a photograph sent to me by one of my school friends.   She sent the photo of a guy and 5 girls to me and asked whether I know of a girl called X. I took a casual look at the photo and said no and that I was unable to remember any girl called X in our school, although 3-4 girls looked like I knew them from somewhere!!   When she said X in the college, I quickly scanned the faces again in the photo and recognized X.   My friend said she had met these guys and had shared my number with X.   She also sent me X’s number. I talked to X and added her to our WhatsApp group that I had created last month when I had a reunion with 4 more of my college mates!!   During the next 3-4 days we were able to get another 8 of our college mates through linked-in and other contacts.   It was found that about 11 of them were in Delhi at that time and it was decided to meet on 5 th August at a suitable venue.   I too decided that I should also visit Delhi on that day as you never k

84 - Growing Old, Declining Memory 😊😊

One advantage of growing old is that you are supposed to possess a lot of experience 😊 .   A lot of things you have done in your life and you are proud of it.   It means you have faced a lot of problems and issues in your life and you have come out of it scathed or unscathed.   Sometimes it also helps you in facing issues that you have already faced earlier and you can now work out the solution to it very fast. The downside of growing old is declining memory 😊 . You forget where you last kept your things.   You suddenly forget the names of people whom you meet and try to recollect the name.   I am sure you would have seen the ad where the husband forgets the name of his wife and asks his friend what was the name of the flower which has scent and has thorns. When his friend says Rose, he calls out his wife whose name happens to be Rose!!   In case you have not seen it, here it is….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGKV17Q6Ohc One of my friends is also growing old and I will
