84 - Growing Old, Declining Memory 😊😊

One advantage of growing old is that you are supposed to possess a lot of experience😊.  A lot of things you have done in your life and you are proud of it.  It means you have faced a lot of problems and issues in your life and you have come out of it scathed or unscathed.  Sometimes it also helps you in facing issues that you have already faced earlier and you can now work out the solution to it very fast.

The downside of growing old is declining memory😊. You forget where you last kept your things.  You suddenly forget the names of people whom you meet and try to recollect the name.  I am sure you would have seen the ad where the husband forgets the name of his wife and asks his friend what was the name of the flower which has scent and has thorns. When his friend says Rose, he calls out his wife whose name happens to be Rose!!  In case you have not seen it, here it is…..

One of my friends is also growing old and I will recount you these four things that he has experienced.  All these happened when he went out to enjoy a movie with his family!!  Enjoy his predicament😊

He had booked the ticket for Robot 2.0 at a theatre which was about 10 kms away from his house and takes about half an hour to reach.  He always makes it a point to reach the theatre at least 15-20 minutes early so that there is sufficient time to park the vehicle and walk to the theatre.  So, he left the house with his family at 9pm for the 10pm show.  It was a weekend and he forgot that during the weekend, the way from his house to the theater would be filled with tourist buses and it might take a long time to reach the theatre😊. Ultimately, he reached the theatre at 1030pm and saw the movie from that time!!  Later he had to see the initial half hour of the movie again to satisfy himself that he has seen the full movie.  If you feel that this is nothing, read on😊

Next time he had booked the ticket for another movie, the name I do not recollect😊.  This time he had decided that since the mall where the theater was situated, had a food court, the family would have dinner there and then watch the movie.  He reached the mall with his family and had dinner.  After dinner, when the time for movie came, he opened the ticket in his mobile and saw to his dismay that the booking was at some other theater!!  The family immediately ran all the way to the parking and dashed to the car to reach the next theater.  Although the next theater was only 5-10 minutes away, he did miss the initial 5-10 minutes of the movie!!  Again, he had to see the missed portion later on😊

Another time he had booked the ticket for Uri, The Surgical Strike.  He entered the theater with his wife and started watching the ads.  The National Anthem came and he stood up.  After the Anthem, the movie started and a Telugu movie started to play.  He then asked the person in the neighbouring seat when Uri will start. The guy said this is a Telugu movie and Uri was playing in the next hall, which was only 5-6 steps away from this hall😊. Luckily Uri had still not started in that hall and he had to stand for the National Anthem again and then see the movie😊

Last week he had booked for Judgmental Hai Kya and he went with his wife to see the movie.  When he had booked the ticket and it came to his mobile, he saw that it was at 1035pm and was on Screen 3 of the multiplex.  So, after reaching the theatre on that day, he went and sat near the Screen 3 and waited for the gates to open.  Toll 1040pm, the gate was not open!!  His wife also reminded him that why the gate has still not opened. He opened the ticket on his mobile and saw that the ticket was for Screen 2!!  He then rushed to Screen 2 with his wife and saw the movie from the credits scene that come at the start!!  Later he saw the scene that he missed that came before the start-credits😊.
