 More web-series reviews…

This week I saw 3 series on hospitals. The series were excellent. Hence today is the hospital series blog, even as some 35 blogs are already waiting to be published😊!!  I saw Pulse last. Therefore, I did not find it that excellent as the other two.  I would advise you to see Pulse first so that you don’t face the same predicament!

My blogs are at least 5-6 months old as I keep seeing new movies and web-series. In case you want to catch up on new releases, ping me on my mobile number in Signal (a WhatsApp like app, with stronger security😊) and I would add you to my Movie Recommendations group there!

Pulse – Came in 2025. Follows the personal and professional lives of doctors and staff at a busy Miami trauma center.

A review from IMDB...

It's almost criminal to have so many good-looking people in one show. Honestly, how are they all in the same scene and managing to save lives? Guess we are not complaining. Pulse is a new-age medical drama that not only delivers on entertainment but also holds its own when it comes to the medical side-balancing gripping emergencies, ethical dilemmas, and moments of genuine intensity in the operating room. From the very first episode, you're pulled into a world where high-stakes cases and messy, magnetic relationships collide.

But beyond the eye candy, the show brings everything you need for a solid, binge-worthy drama. There's ambition, tension, shifting loyalties, and just the right amount of personal conflict brewing beneath the surface. Relationships simmer, dynamics shift, and the slow-burn tension between characters keeps you watching. The medical cases add just enough urgency and emotional weight-some gripping, some devastating, all designed to keep the stakes high. In a show like this, you know it's working when a character frustrates you one moment and wins you over the next.

But for all its strengths, the show does have its flaws. At times, it tries too hard. We already know these doctors are heroes, but there are moments when it overplays their heroism-pushing scenarios that feel exaggerated, overly dramatic, or just plain far-fetched. It's a little indulgent, a little too on the nose. But hey, that's the nature of the show. It thrives on spectacle, and if you're in for the ride, you'll learn to take the occasional over-the-top moment in stride.

The real magic? It makes hospitals-blood, chaos, and all-look inexplicably glamorous. That's where it truly wins. From the very start, the show sets the tone, and delivers a rollercoaster of drama, suspense, and the right amount of scandal. It's glossy, dramatic, and easy to binge-perfect for Gen Z and anyone in the mood for a little escapism. And honestly? It gets the job done.

My Take – A decent watch!

The Pitt – Came in 2025.  The daily lives of healthcare professionals in a Pittsburgh hospital as they juggle personal crises, workplace politics, and the emotional toll of treating critically ill patients, revealing the resilience required in their noble calling.

A review from IMDB...

I'm honestly so surprised more people aren't talking about The Pitt. It's one of those rare shows that lands quietly but hits like a freight train. Think 'The Bear', but set in a hospital - emotionally raw, tightly wound, and totally absorbing. The concept is so clever: each of the 15 episodes unfolds in real time over a single hour of a chaotic, life-altering shift in an emergency department. That structure alone creates this brilliant sense of urgency and claustrophobia, but it's the writing and performances that really elevate it.

It's heartbreakingly real - not just in the way it handles the medical cases, but in how it captures the emotional toll this job takes on the staff. There's no glossy hospital drama sheen here. It's intense, gritty, and unflinchingly human. You feel the exhaustion, the heartbreak, the fleeting moments of hope. Some scenes genuinely left me breathless.

The entire cast delivers, but Noah Wyle is in the league of his own here. He brings such gravity and compassion to his role - one of those performances that just sticks with you. There's a quiet depth to his character that anchors the chaos, and you can feel the weight of every decision he makes. Tracy Ifeachor and Supriya Ganesh are also brilliant - complex, conflicted, completely believable.

A few episodes are honestly up there with the best things I've ever seen on TV. There's one in particular (I won't spoil it) that had us sitting in silence for a good while after the credits rolled. Just devastating in the best way.

'The Pitt' is peak modern television. Smart, emotional, beautifully acted, and entirely unforgettable. Watch it.

My Take – An excellent series!

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call – Came in 2025. Baek Gang-Hyeok (Ju Ji-Hoon) is a genius trauma surgeon who has performed surgeries in conflict zones around the world. He is confident in his abilities and has a bulldozer like personality when he thinks he is doing the right thing. He begins to work at a university hospital and leads the severe trauma team there. The severe trauma team is a double edged sword for the university hospital. This is because as the severe trauma team saves more patients, the hospital goes further in in the red financially. Baek Gang-Hyeok turns the severe trauma team from a nominal existence to a team that actually goes out into the field and saves lives.

A review from IMDB...

Best doctor k-drama of this year This is the best 2025 k-drama. "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call," a South Korean medical drama released on Netflix in January 2025, has garnered significant attention and diverse reviews from both critics and audience. I was a big fan of the web novel Trauma Center: Golden Hour, I was always thought how good it will be if it made into a anime or series. When I saw the teaser on Netflix I really liked it and skipped a beat. Even though there were some changes, missed out and mixing of scenes it is well made and worth it. I really hope it will get more seasons. Atleast one more season or a movie. I hope the author will be able to create more amazing works. Thank you for the team to made it into a series and this wonderful. This is a Gem of a series . Action packed, great acting, well directed and made . Imagine it was a high budget with such a strong cast dramatic, gripping and just brilliantly done. There really should be a season 2.. There are moments in life when we stand at a crossroads, where the choice before us is not just about career or comfort, but about purpose about who we are meant to be. "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" is more than a high-stakes medical drama; it is a testament to the raw, unflinching humanity of heroism the kind that demands sacrifice, conviction, and the courage to stand in the fire when others would step away. Trauma center emphasizes the importance of every second counting. A term that appeared in the drama is the golden hour; the golden hour is a period of time when a patient has the best chance of survival. Baek Kang Hyuk is the true image of what a doctor's should be. He shows us that human lives is the most prior above all anything else. He gives all his calmness in saving patients lives.

Each episode shines a light on roles each person plays in a team. This emotional rollercoaster helps you appreciate the people fighting for our survival. (Doctors, nurses, paramedics, and soldiers to name a few.) Great acting and directing! The cast of actors is fabulous and fit well together. The actors portrayed their characters very well and the plot of the story was truly amazing . Great chemistry between the actors.

"The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" reminds us that true heroism is never easy. It is messy, painful, and often comes at a cost. But it is also deeply, profoundly human. This series does not just tell a story it makes you feel the weight of every choice, every loss, and every victory. Can't get enough of this series, fast paced, thrilling, touching, witty and funny all at the same time. Excellent choice of cast, love Ju Ji-Hoon. Watching it again for the 2nd time. Hoping for season 2.

My Take – An excellent series!

Adios till next time😊!!
