13 How to decide on seeing a movie

Looking for seeing some movies in your free time and don’t know which one?  Your friend has suggested a movie, but you want to know more about the movie before spending on the ticket.  You don’t know the title of the movie but know the name of the hero/heroine.  If you have found yourself in this scenario, often, then this is the blog for you!!

The best site for knowing details about any movie is www.imdb.com.  IMDb stands for Internet Movie Database.  You can find anything and everything about any movie here – the stars of the movie, the director, the storyline, trailer, release date, box office collections, runtime, some trivia about the movie, some goofs in the movie and the movie reviews.

Reviews available are from the users as well as the critics.  Looking at the times we are living in, user review can rate from 0 to 10 depending on the person doing the review.  They also publish an overall rating on the movie based on the ratings given by people online.  When they display the overall rating they also mention how many people have voted to arrive at this rating.

If the movie contains some mature content, they describe the scene in a different page.  Based on that you can decide if it is suitable to be watched with your kids or not.

You can also see the names of other movies in the page, based on what other users searched for, once they reached this movie page.  It gives you an idea as to similar movies that have something related to this movie. Maybe same genre or same star cast or a similar storyline.

You can also check out the details of Bollywood and other regional language movies too. The reviews will be present in case someone has taken pains to enter the data about these movies.  For Bollywood movies, the site I check is www.bollywoodhungama.com.  You can check out the reviews as well as the box office collections.  The review is done by their in-house team.  Do check out the user comments too, which will be very colorful depending on whose “camp” the lead star is in!!

Another site for checking out the movie is www.wikipedia.org.  In many cases, you can find full movie scenes described herein.  In case you have missed out on some portion of the movie, you can visit the site and get to know the parts that you have missed out on.

For Tamil films, the best place is the news site, The Hindu.  The review in this site is very helpful in deciding whether to see the movie or ignore it.  The reviewers are to the point and often are bang on, in their verdict of the movie.  Even if they say the movie is just above average, you can definitely see the movie.

167. Ramanarayanam Temple, Vizianagaram

This temple should be on your must-watch bucket list!  It was inaugurated in March 2014.  Not many people are aware of this temple.  I spoke to an official there as to why they are not promoting this in a big way.  He said they have a website and all the details are published there.  I believe, since most of the stuff is mentioned in Telugu language, they are not able to attract many visitors.  Although for the Hanuman 3-d laser projection show, held thrice in the evening, there is a crowd.    The temple is located on the outskirts of the Vizianagaram town. The temple is in the shape of a bow.  At the two ends of each bow, there are 2 temples, one for Ram-Lakshman-Sita and one for Vishnu.  Between the temples, shaped in the two bows, there are two galleries depicting Ramayana.  A total of 72 laminated moldings depict the entire Ramayana. 1 WhatsAppa Mantras
