15 Subscription to Magazines

A claimer before today’s blog.   Whatever blogs I have written before today and whatever I will be writing in future, I have done them and am still doing all these.  Please be assured that I will not be asking you to follow or do anything that I am not comfortable doing. Having put that in perspective; let me move to today’s topic.

We all would have read lots of magazines in out childhood.  I still remember Champak, Filmfare, Stardust, Week, Illustrated Weekly, Star&Style, Sunday, Caravan etc that I used to eagerly await and read them fully or maybe just glancing through the pictures in some of them.  Even today some of these magazines are available, but we find no time to browse through them.  Either we subscribe to them and get it by post/courier or we go to a library and look for these magazines.

When subscribing, many times we do not read those magazines and they lie in a shelf gathering dust.  One fine weekend, we will call the paperman and dispose them off for a little sum.

For people who want to avoid the above and still want to read magazines, there is an online portal called www.magzter.com.  They provide magazines online which can also be downloaded in your IOS/Android phones and tabs and also can be read on your computer.

They have a Gold scheme wherein you have access to all the magazines in the world (not all, but most) for Rs 999/- per year.  It includes regional language magazines too.  So just download their app (from Apple Store or Google Play Store) and read your favourite magazines, whenever you want!  Of course, you can browse the back-issues of the magazines too! 

Every alternate month or some such duration, they also organize a contest wherein if you are the topmost reader across the country, you get an iPhone!!

For each subscription, you also have an option to share it with 3 different people (actually 3 different email ids) so that they too can read the magazines on the single subscription.  So you can either share it with your family where each one can read the magazines in their own devices or share it among your office colleagues or kitty party colleagues!!

Be sure to delete the old issues from your devices, once you have read them, as over a period of time the device is going to run short of space!!

Start enjoying reading again the magazines that kept you glued on to them in your childhood days!!

167. Ramanarayanam Temple, Vizianagaram

This temple should be on your must-watch bucket list!  It was inaugurated in March 2014.  Not many people are aware of this temple.  I spoke to an official there as to why they are not promoting this in a big way.  He said they have a website and all the details are published there.  I believe, since most of the stuff is mentioned in Telugu language, they are not able to attract many visitors.  Although for the Hanuman 3-d laser projection show, held thrice in the evening, there is a crowd.    The temple is located on the outskirts of the Vizianagaram town. The temple is in the shape of a bow.  At the two ends of each bow, there are 2 temples, one for Ram-Lakshman-Sita and one for Vishnu.  Between the temples, shaped in the two bows, there are two galleries depicting Ramayana.  A total of 72 laminated moldings depict the entire Ramayana. 1 WhatsAppa Mantras

We all are aware of what WhatsApp is and use it almost on an hourly basis now.  These are some of MY mantras that I follow while using WhatsApp.  You might be following some of these on your own without realizing the same!!  In case you have identified more, please feel free to use the comments section to tell me.  Maybe I can publish an updated Mantras List later!!  Fix a fixed time for checking WhatsApp messages and replying to them.   Other times, just switch off the notifications so that you don’t unnecessarily check your phone for new messages.   Most of the times it would have been the same forward that you got 2 days back!!   Please remember, in case of any emergency, the contact would have called you and not have sent a message JJ Forward only those messages that bring some emotion to you – happiness, heart-whelming or something that makes you proud.   No need to forward just because someone else forwarded to you and you want...
