36 Look out for your Destiny's signs

We all would have memories of our parents making us go to school and read so that one day we can become the masters of our destiny.  We had been told that once you acquire knowledge, you can have the world at your feet and live like a king!  Alas, nothing like that happens.  The knowledge that you acquire, and how you use that knowledge in your life is what makes your life.

Destiny is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans.  You might have your interest in other things, but you have to constantly look out for the signs that destiny is showing you.  Of course, you still get to make your own destiny if you can see and act on the things that are happening to you.  If you and your destiny’s path-forward merges and becomes one, you get to lead a comfortable life.  If you do not agree with your destiny and ignore the signs that it is providing you, then get ready for a hell-ride of a life!!

One of the best example is of a gentleman who had come to Mumbai from Peshawar in 1942 and was one day busy selling fruits in his father’s fruit shop.  Destiny made its mark that day.  The reason for him being in the shop that day was that his father was ill and he was told to be in the shop for that day.  One well-known lady from the film industry came to buy some fruits from the shop.  Looking at his handsome face, she asked him to come and meet her in her studio in case he is looking for some work.  Since this gentleman wanted to help his father with household finance, he went and met her in her studio.  He was hired on a monthly salary in the studio and was offered the part of the Hero in the lady’s next film.  As they say, rest is history.  The lady was Devika Rani, the owner of Bombay Talkies and the gentleman was Mohammed Yusuf Khan, whom we all know as Dilip Kumar.  If he had not been in that shop on that day, he would never have met Devika Rani and bagged that film.  Of course, since he was hard working, he would still have made his name in another way, but not with a result like this.  Destiny ensured that he was there at the right time so that he could select the path shown by his destiny.

If you had told me some 20 years back that I will be spending the major part of my life in Hyderabad, I would have laughed you off.  I was doing good in Delhi, had my father’s house to live in, was married, had a small kid and life was going well.  Out of the blue, came an offer to move to Hyderabad, and as they say, rest is history.  I am well off now, according to my standards😊, and happily enjoying life!!
