More we-series reviews…

Don’t F**K with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer – This is a 2019 true crime docuseries about an online manhunt. The 3-part docuseries chronicles events following a crowd-sourced amateur investigation into a series of animal cruelty acts committed by Canadian pornographic actor Luka Magnotta, culminating in his murder of Chinese international student Jun Lin. It was one of Netflix's Top 5 most-watched documentaries of 2019.

One of the reviews from IMDB…

New on Netflix today, I figured I'll watch the first episode before getting ready for work. I'm now late and have binged all 3 episodes. It's cost me £15 in lost wages, and worth every minute! It's a well-researched, skillfully written and edited documentary that is a very relevant critique of our modern culture. The soundtrack adds another layer and helps to build up the tension nicely. No spoilers, don't worry. The doc' ends up questioning our values, the desire for fame and how far some people will go to get just a little slice of it. The focus starts with a small and very determined team of internet sleuths, and ends with twists a plenty. One tiny spoiler (okay, I lied) I couldn't get over how delusional the mother still is about her 'little boy' despite all of the evidence presented to us. I think this is a must watch series that asks us all about our own voyeuristic nature, and whether our obsession with celebrity culture can actually kick start and fuel some very depraved behavior. There's always been sadists and killers, but are they now more common because of easy access to the platform that is social media? There's a great line from 'Baudi', one of the main hunters "Are you complicit? Maybe it's time to turn off the machine"? She's talking directly to us. Luckily you don't get to see the animal torture. If you're tuning in in the hope that you will, get help.

An excellent series that starts at one place and ends at quite another place😊.  Even though I had this for about 5-6 months, I was avoiding to see it, just because of the title.  I am glad that I watched this as this series is simply awesome.  Don’t miss it😊!!

Criminal (UK, France,Germany Spain) – Criminal is a series of four Netflix police procedural anthology TV series set in four countries. The four series are Criminal: France, Criminal: Germany, Criminal: Spain, and Criminal: UK. Although the showrunners are based in the UK, each of the local three-part series is written and performed in that country's native language by native actors, but all four individual local series were shot on the same set in Madrid, Spain. All four series were released simultaneously in September 2019. A second series of Criminal: UK, consisting of four episodes, was released on 16 September 2020.

Each episode is a stand-alone psychological drama, consisting of the interrogation of an individual by a team of police investigators. Every episode is confined to just three areas in a single location; a police interrogation room, a darkened viewing room that looks into the interrogation room through a one-way mirror, and the hallway and stairwell outside the rooms.

A review from IMDB...

I saw David Tenant in the UK version so I watched it. Very good! Then, after 3 Episodes, it went to "Criminal: Spain"???? Same set. Same room, chairs, buttons, clock, etc.

Then, I found "Criminal: Germany" and "Criminal: France". It's a really cool concept. You see the same setting where exactly the same skill set is being used. It's eye opening to the difference of the legal systems in all these counties. This is also something only an online global streaming service could pull off because off the reach in all these countries. I mean, could you see anyone but Netflix, Hulu, Amazon able to use the same set for 4 + different series in that many different countries?

Watch all of them. Guaranteed not to be a waste of time.

An excellent series.  Worth a definitive watch😊!!
