113. Blog from my daughter!!

My daughter had created this post and had asked me to go through it.  I found it to be quite interesting. Hence I am sharing this in my blogpost😊

By Shreya Seshadri

Where do we start when talking about this man we know is our father? He’s called many things: a movie buff, an avid reader, a movie maker, a blogger, an adventurer, ‘periappa’, ‘athimber’, ‘bhaiyya’, a loving son and husband- the list is endless. Turning 50 is the Golden Jubilee, and it signifies entering a life of contentment. Appa certainly deserves to have one, and to mark the occasion, what better than to write something similar to a blog inspired by his own hobby?

Appa was born and brought up in Naraina, Delhi. While we couldn’t find any of his childhood pictures in his house, there were some snaps of his childhood home.

This was probably because pictures weren’t usually taken casually back then, unless it was for important things. Furthermore, we’re pretty sure Appa took these pictures himself, years later. It is not difficult to imagine him playing and moving around here when he was young. But photos were still taken even then for graduating classes

It was during his schooling years that he met his best friends, people who remain with him even now, after about 40 years: Hari uncle, Subbu uncle and Sashi uncle. Until now, we have even gone on trips with them where we could see their friendship on display! Their friendship through thick and thin is something to envy, and indeed seeing their example has inspired and helped us make our own friends too!

Of course, Appa also still meets up with other friends, who haven’t lost touch over the course of the years. It’s really fun just being there and watching them interact, listening to their laughter and realising that when they’re with each other they’re kids again.

I’ve met quite a few of his friends, and all of their personalities, Appa included, are the same- cheerful, happy, and laughing contagiously.

School and college, finished, friends and deep bonds acquired- what next?

A brilliant and impressive career journey. When we first saw the row of huge and shiny, glass prizes lined up on top of the wooden surface, we were undoubtedly surprised. Wow! Did Appa get alll those prizes himself?

Indeed, he had. Appa is someone who knows his stuff, and is always organized and planned and prepared for anything that might come ahead. His brilliant mind and skills in his work field took him many places, and his ability to face problems head on got him his accolades.

Hardwork, determination and a will of steel got him to where he was.
During this period of time, after college and start of career, 2 major things happened. First of all, Appa got married to Amma! Secondly, sometimes Appa alone, but mostly Amma too, went to various countries!

To the countries Appa went alone, he mostly took pictures of the surrounding places and things.

I mean it. Soo many.

Too many to count.

And there are also other pictures,

Sleep is an essential part of life, and the one who usually takes pictures of others sleeping- can have his picture taken when he is sleeping too!

And then we have more than 22 countries in all visited by Appa!

And now Appa is turning 50- only half of his life has been completed, and in this short time Appa has become such an accomplished individual with so many experiences, awards, memories and people around him.

Even now, he’s keeping up with the times: playing with fidget spinners, watching web series and shows, reading the latest books- it’s a show of his adaptability.

Furthermore, he manages to fulfil all the roles perfectly!

A doting father, a dutiful son, a loving husband and overall, a fun guy!

  3. A priceless tribute indeed from Shreya to her father, who rightfully deserves such tributes of the highest order. And like her father she is most articulate in expressing herself. And we are most thankful to Shreya for making us part of this tribute in the sense that she has put us in the highest pedestal of friendship. Proud of you Shreya and Sesh.
