1 WhatsAppa Mantras
We all are aware of what WhatsApp
is and use it almost on an hourly basis now.
These are some of MY mantras that I follow while using WhatsApp. You might be following some of these on your
own without realizing the same!! In case
you have identified more, please feel free to use the comments section to tell
me. Maybe I can publish an updated
Mantras List later!!
- Fix a fixed time for checking WhatsApp messages and replying to them. Other times, just switch off the notifications so that you don’t unnecessarily check your phone for new messages. Most of the times it would have been the same forward that you got 2 days back!! Please remember, in case of any emergency, the contact would have called you and not have sent a message JJ
- Forward only those messages that bring some emotion to you – happiness, heart-whelming or something that makes you proud. No need to forward just because someone else forwarded to you and you want to make others too suffer JJ. And please check the veracity of the forward before forwarding. Reebok or Nike is not going to give you any shoes for free. Period. Same goes for your Mobile Vendor offering free calls for life or putting some topups!!
- While forwarding, please check and re-check to see that you are not forwarding the same message to the sender alsoJJ. No need of any hurry to forward. I had to come out of a group just for pointing this out, although not in a subtle wayJJ.
- Stop sending “good morning” messages. These choke up the bandwidth. Imaging someone in your group in a fixed data plan and receiving your (perceived) beautiful good morning message. He/She will never again add you in any other group that he/she createsJJ. Your sending of this kind of messages is not going to help anyone. That person’s day will be the same with or without your messages JJ
- Before hitting the “Send” button, please check and recheck if the recipients are correct and won’t have any problems in receiving that message. I know of a person who sent a non-veg “maid” joke to the members of his building’s WhatsApp group!! He had to quit the group after sending out an apology. Luckily for him, the maids in the building were not in that WhatsApp groupJJ!! Otherwise the situation would have been very different!!
- Once a week, delete all the messages from all the senders. These are unnecessarily cluttering your phone. Also connect your phone to a computer that time and delete all the “sent” messages too. These include text, audio, video, gif and other documents that you have received or sent during the previous week.
Once you start following these Mantras, you will have a stress-free
WhatsApp experience! Cheers!!
Today’s daffy definition
Etc (etcetera) – A word that makes people think that you
know more than what you actually do!!
P.S. Some of you have asked me how to put the
comments for the blog. Just Click on ”Enter Your Comment” in the last line of the page. Then in the “Comment as” drop-down, click on “Google Account”. Put your comments, login to
your google account (gmail userid and password) and click on “Publish”.
You are done. Blogspot is accepting only a few logins and Google is one of them.
Good one..
